First of all I want to say what a great forum this is. I am brand new and am really pleased there is something like this out there.

OK my sad story:

Just after 9/11 as a cost cutting measure my company started making everyone under a certain level fly coach...and I am way below that level. About the same time they started sending me to Tokyo and Hong Kong fairly often. I try and upgrade as often as I can but I am "only" Premirer Exec and usually there are enough 1k's ahead of me on the upgrade list that I don't make the cut. On my last flight I was behind some guy's kids (he was in first and his kids in buisness and I was in coach) I wanted to cry.....but I digress.

This year I will fly around 85k miles. I am looking for ideas on getting to 1k status. I suppose, if it comes to that I will do a millage run, If I can find time to squeeze one in. but are there other ways to pick up qualifying miles?
