Yes for the NEW LT Plat (where you need 10 years of Plat, which will be 50 nights/year) then old years of MR Gold will count (as those were 50 nights years)
BUT for anyone trying to get in under for the wire with 10 years of Plat for LTPP, those past years of Gold aren't going to magically "gross up" to Plat.
I don't see language differentiating between the "types" of platinum years needed for new LTP and new LTPP, just for the deadline for achieving LTPP. And I don't see why it would have to be "magical" to be grossed up for LTPP and not considered "magical" for LTP.
But we will know when it happens (or doesn't).
