Yeah she got what she paid for. It's a short flight she should be okay on whatever class anyways but I can imagine she must feel very terrible when they told her you are sent back to the back and then realise it is indeed very back

Funny thing is it actually almost happened on me before. I did a very last minute change to a flight due to typhoon and rush to the airport. When I arrived the counter it was almost T-40 minutes. I saw them print out the J boarding pass already but just before they handed that to me, the supervisor whispered to the staff say the boarding gate already give the seat to other people because i haven't checked in. Can't complain anything as technically they haven't handed me the boarding pass and i was very grateful when they managed to get me out before typhoon arrived.
