The 32B flying the JFK - LAX or SFO runs are A321T Premium F and J canbins with horizontally flat seats, and they do have access. Flying in an A321H or -S affords no lounge access by cabin class of service.

This is nothing new.

“32B”merely means an A321 with “Sharklets” wingtip devices, and includes the A321H, -S and -T aircraft. Unfortunately, AA uses those designations on the safety cards, but uses the overly broad “32B” term on aa.com - but it’s both misleading and useless for determining lounge access purposes.
So it’s because the 777 is no longer flying. So long as they keep the premium soft product on board, it’ll still be a really worthwhile upgrade, whether complimentary or otherwise. I wonder if any other transcon flights in 2-class have the same treatment 🤔
