It sounds like you already know this, but European business class isn't anything special. You'll get the same exact seat as economy with the middle seat blocked off, and probably a meal of some kind.
Still better than sitting further in the back with somebody next to you. And compared to a standard seat, I think those Euro-Biz have a little more legroom (same as the C+). Also since they used a GUC they should get all of its worth for the continuing segment. I'd say call up and try again.
