If you ask for the bookings to be split you will get a new record. I did this and was then able to cancel the new record within 24 hours at no cost- got a full refund. It wasn't intentional, I asked for them to be split and they asked me which one I wanted to change- I said my travel partners as that was the intention so they then gave me a new record. Logging into the new record for saw it was cancellable- so I did. You must get the new number- and mine might have been a fluke as never read about it on here before. Tell them your travel partner is the who may want to change- which is why you are splitting.
