Regardless of what you think of AMEX, it is a *global* company and is accepted regularly worldwide in the travel/hospitality industry at international companies for sure, maybe not small local establishments though. The problem here is their website says they take AMEX, but do not yet for whatever reason "we are new and it takes forever to set up internationally".
