I have before done deals where another credit card was having some great interest rate deal like "3.9% for the length of your charge on purchases and balance transfers only" and I've transferred over $10,000 of a "balance transfer" from AmEx to the VISA - so I got the $10,000 on the VISA at 3.9% and then ended up with a $10,000 credit on AmEx which they promptly sent me a check for. A good way to get a cash advance at a great rate if you have the time - for 3.9%, I invested the cash assuming I could do better than that in the market and have the liquity at the same time.
