This is especially relevant now that DL offers D1 service from DCA.
They should block off a few tables at DCA for D1 customers, like Amex does at Centurion lounges for black card holders.
As much as it sucks, getting rid of all-airline access for membership holders will be essential once National Hall is moved airside.
They could do what Alaska does with priority club swipes and subject Am Ex swipes to capacity controls. If the Skyclub is full they decline Am Ex plat swipes and only admit skyclub members and D1 flyers and international flyers who are Sky Priority.
I prefer the Boardrooms over the Skyclub just because they aren't as crowded and last time I flew out of SEA they were limiting admission at the boardroom to Boardroom members and Alaska first class flyers. Same with the one lounge at LIM last time I flew out of there, the club was packed and they weren't allowing priority pass swipes. The priority pass lounges will probably be even worse now that the new Hilton Am Ex gives unlimited PP Visits.
