First evaluate whether Amex MR points would get you anything you need. For example, if you transfer all your UR points to United, you can't transfer Amex MR points to United, so what would you do with them?
Ie, before worrying about whether you earn better or not with an Amex card, figure out if the points you'd earn would be useful to you, since each bank's points system works differently.
