It is not clear to me here whether the poster shutdown or closed his/her own Ritz card or if Chase did. If the poster closed the Ritz card, I see no risk in sending a SM to confirm the status of the card. Wouldn't it be rare for Chase to shutdown a Ritz card, and then allow the customer to open 2 new cards a year later?
