It seems the CAI - HNL fare is back. It's a little more expensive now, coming in at £1,398. Thats 8*140 = 1,120 TP or £1.25/TP. No idea if it's possible to get F on the transcons this time, but a pretty good fare. Rakes in a decent number of avios too, considering the sheer distance involved. Seems that stopovers are permitted too. You can find it same way as before, find the rough date in Google flights then use matrix to force a routing visa LHR, JFK and LAX..

A little warning to all considering this fare - expect a friendly chat with a CBP officer and this may take a while.
In my case, I got a cross on the printout from the APC kiosk, went to see the CBP officer who stamped my passport then asked another CBP officer to take me to blue waiting room. A few minutes later my travel companion joined me there. Another few minutes later another CBP officer took us for a "friendly chat" (their words) to another room. This chat was around our last trip to Egypt - why, when - for some reason they could see we've flown directly from CAI. Not sure whether it was a one-off or a new regular welcome. 20-30 minutes later we were escorted to the arrivals.
