Probably. I just remember there being a clause somewhere that said certain types of flights operated by someone else had to be paid for immediately. Mine was one of them because I couldn't put it on hold. I tried going through from the UK, from Japan and it told both times to start again from within the UK, but the prices were too high. I got fed up in the end and just chanced it on my CC anyway. It went through fine.
