I can't imagine there'd be empty First seats at take-off.

This is a LAX -> JFK flight, 8:00am.
AA will not just upgrade people to 1st because there are empty seats

Unless there are people who have put in mileage or systemwide upgrade requests in, then in normal situations, the remaining seats will remain empty

If the flight is oversold and there needs to be involuntary upgrades that would be different, but if flight not sold out, then I would not assume that 1st will be filled up with upgraded passengers

What is the date of travel?
