If you call again, you may be asked to apply a second instrument. I don't see a much bigger downside than that, unless I'm missing something. I suppose it's possible that you might lose the PHL-IAH upgrade, which you said you were willing to trade for DEN-PHL anyway. I can't see them banning you from MileagePlus or anything.
