I too got the "downgrade" email and was jacked into the ceiling before getting the "oops" follow up a few hours later. IHG put us all into ulcer gulch with the delayed renewals and no information, only to send out a scud like that today. Jeez, we can't even enjoy the honeymoon for a few days?
Amateur hour doesn't even begin to describe the buffoonery at IHG. As one other poster mentioned, somebody should be looking for a new job.
