Thanks for the effort. You sound like you did not do some proper research before coming to KSA. I can assure you, it's not as bad as you might think it is, but you need time to settle down and get in touch with the locals. Once they open up, they may invite you to their homes - and oh boy, believe me - THAT will be the best dinner you've ever had in KSA. You did the typical rookie mistakes, which probably got you some looks here and there
