I've had a handful of experiences walking from CNX recently. Ever since they upped the taxi fare to 150 and got rid of the meter option I refuse to use the taxi mafia. Now I either walk or rent a car and have done both on several occasions.
With bags 45 min to Chiang Mai gate (eastern of the two southern gates); <35min without bags.
