Correct, you would fail to retain Silver this year and be due to drop to bronze but regain it before you actually lose it. Depending on when your trip is you may have a bronze card sent but would get silver back straight away.

If I don't fly 1 eligible flight till 8 Jan 2018 then I will drop down to bronze from 9 Jan.
1. 600 TPs and 4 eligible flights between 9 Jan to 28 Feb will get me have silver tier till 28 Feb 2020.
2. 600 TPs and 4 eligible flights from 1 Mar will get me have silver tier only till 28 Feb 2019.
Do I understand correctly?
