Booking with a third-party would not have help you, as ANA would just tell you to contact them, who would then recite you the same fare rules.
Thanks for the info! Funny considering I originally wanted to take a re-routing but no dice on that response as well. I read some data points earlier in the thread so I had some hope it could happen.
