Thinking about it some more, look at the time of your alert, 3am BST. Look at the time of the alert, 10PM EST. I've seen the chase alert be flaky(and not correctly realize timezones)... and say a 10PM charge is at 10AM.
Looks like last night's charge did show the authorization time and not the last tap time. I really wish Chase was more clear as to whether a particular charge happened in the AM or PM.
