Your potential better upgrade at the CY may have been limited by the nearly full to full daily occupancy that this prop has been enjoying.

Since opening, I’ve been a regular here and have always been offered breakfast in either lounge or MoMo every stay both as a G or P

Looks like they decided to include buffett breakfast at the Momo for people with Marriott status. Back in May it was only continental breakfast in the executive lounge.

Extensive selection of food for breakfast. Im impressed.
