Last year I met a couple of AC pilots on YYZ-LHR going to pick up an aircraft in SIN. They were flying YYZ-LHR-SIN because by the time they had confirmation of when the aircraft was ready, the AC flights to Asia were too full in J.

AC has no flight operations in SIN, so they can't just simply and easily operate one-off revenue flights there. If AC ever starts a YVR-SIN route for example, then this would be a more feasible option.
