Thanks for posting this, got DCA -> SFO for two for $200.22. I don't' know anything about basic economy but this fare let me select seats (no status AA member) and included carry on baggage (the two pieces). Paid with gift card and Aviator card and it shows AAdvantageŽ benefits = Priority.
From what I can tell basic economy should not allow you to select seats?
