I just looked at my spreadsheet, for our last 10 or so Chase cards, not one was the spend to be completed less than 103 days from approval
If things have changed to a hard 90 days the OP better think things over as if he applies on 10/3/2017 ninety days ( the date $2k in charges has to have POSTED) would be January 1, 2018 and a bunch of things could mess him/her up.
I guess get things in writing from Chase when you are cutting it close.
The date of Oct 4 is curiously very close to 90 days before exact year-end. I imagine that date was not chosen by accident.
Because posting can take a couple days.
But we will see.
