You seem to be a bitter fool. Sure things have changed, but I have changed with the times. I have been doing this hobby (cards only) since the early 2000's and all I can say is I'm at 1.2M miles and points YTD 2017 with no MS and just came back from a $13K trip to Europe spending less than $400.00. I also like to experiment. That's gotten me more miles and points over the years than you can imagine.
I don't really go to the seminar to learn anymore. I go to catch up with old friends and share my ideas and successes with other attendees (and maybe brag a little bit at the bar. ). I'm happy to share. All you have to do is ask (which is the spirit of most attendees).
Oh, and as Howie has mentioned, all proceeds go to charities after expenses and the speakers do it gratis. Why don't you move on.
