Zero reason to spend even $1 to be a consistent player in BA's eye's. Loyalty is a one way street. And I really believe status is a by product of usage. If you are not using BA that much, then you wont miss the benefits of elevated status since many the benefits relieve some of the humdrum and tediousness of the airport.
