We were in Franschhoek about 4 or 5 years and walked to Mont Rochelle from the village for the winery tour and lunch - it was a great experience. I don't remember there being rooms there then - when did they open them?
Our guesthouse in the village had heated bathroom and bedroom floors BTW which was lovely even at Easter.
