SF can be like that during conventions . . . Everything will be over $500 Monday through Thursday, then drop under $200 for Friday-Sunday.
If I need the room during the week, and can redeem at 1.4 cpp when the paid rates are at the high end, I don't really care what it drops to after I leave. Just not relevant to the decision whether to pay $500 or burn points at 1.4 cents per.
