I think the MAGIC apparel show is usually in August (and February)?
That's pretty big.

I think it's become increasingly difficult over the past decade to get <$500 fares for a weekend (2-4 nights) trip from NYC. $600 definitely high but not crazy, and definitely not "complete absurdity".
