The way I took advantage of this was when I was a very regular visitor to a particular property. I negotiated a rate for 3 hours based on a minimum of 10 bookings per year. This was at a FS property and I got a very low rate. I actually used the room most of the time too so a colleague and I could chat while we worked overtime.

The points, of course, were minimal but those 100 nights for 2 years means I needed to find an equally lucrative points generator... hello credit card!!
