Noting up until a few hours ago the call centers of Qatar Airways didn't have much information, I would assume it might take another few hours/days for BA staff to know what to do - so it might be a long call....Noting you can cancel your avios booking up to 24 hours before the flight it might be best to wait a couple of days and perhaps the issue will resolve itself with BA publishing something about it...good luck and keep us posted
