To be fair to WN the couple times my flight was really delayed into MDW and I complained they gave me a refund of the EBCI with no problem. The time I had to overnight in DEN I didn't complain since DEN/LAX is a pretty short flight and the reason I paid for the EBCI was the DTW/DEN flight and I had an exit row on that flight.
THeir CS was good to me when needed. I'd expect them to refund it. It doesn't fix the issue of a terrible seat on a long haul because connection was delayed and your A03 boarded in C.
