I found this site that was posted on another aviation message board. It is quite interesting and has a lot of history of the current ATL terminal complex that opened in 1981. However, I noticed that American, United, Continental, and TWA are not listed on the terminal maps. Did AA, UA, CO, and TWA not serve ATL in the 1980's or is it a mistake?

The answer to your question is buried deep in the website. For United (as an example):
United left the Atlanta market in 1979 but returned in the mid 1980s.
