I think that a very fair assessment. I am delighted with the Club service on domestics, especially MAN. I find the catering just right for the short and long bands. I would however feel short-changed on the medium band flights, especially those that were once in Band 3.
Troy Warfield told me they were actively monitoring feedback on the new catering and that changes were imminent. IIRC portion sizes did increase a little but not significantly for the 'medium band' sectors.
