We want to clarify that the Miles Boost benefit and how it is awarded has not changed. The notification that American Express Card Members received was intended to explain how the Miles Boost benefit worked if multiple card accounts were linked to the same SkyMiles account. To clarify:

  • A Card Member can receive a maximum of two (2) Miles Boost awards if more than one of the same card product are linked to a single SkyMiles account. For example, if a Card Member has two Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card accounts linked to the same SkyMiles number, then the Card Member can receive a maximum of 20,000 miles and 20,000 Medallion® Qualification Miles (MQMs) each calendar year.
  • If a Card Member has a Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card and a Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card with both linked to the same SkyMiles number, then the Card Member can receive a maximum of 40,000 miles and 40,000 MQMs each calendar year.
  • In the case of an upgrade, a Card Member is eligible to receive a maximum of four (4) total Miles Boost awards in the calendar year of the upgrade: two (2) Miles Boost awards on the previous card and two (2) more Miles Boost awards on the current card. For example, if a Card Member had a Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card and upgraded to the Delta Reserve Credit Card, the Card Member can receive a maximum of four (4) Miles Boost awards across the two card products in that calendar year.
