Not sure about AUS. I know there are two places at BNA where you can hear live bands. One is in Concourse C where the Tootsie's Lounge is set up. Bar, live music. Been there every day I have been in the airport.
The other one is outside security near the entrance/exit of terminals A/B. Usually daily. I was there on a Saturday AM waiting for a friend to arrive from DTW and a blues band was playing in the waiting area and started singing some old gospel tunes and had half the waiting area swaying.
Its not hard to get musicians to play for almost free since every record producer in town uses the airport. Plus tips.
Live music is a good stress reliever that airports could use
