LON-LAS in Premium Economy?

AC experts, forgive my ignorance as I am almost exclusively a OW flyer nowadays, so need some advice for a friend who needs to be in LAS at the beginning of June.

Sensibly, he would rather not go economy on the direct BA or VS service if he can avoid it. I've managed to get an ex-DUB in J on BA/AA, but he can't afford the time for positioning.

His dates are o/b 2nd June, i/b 7th June. The direct BA LHR-LAS-LHR in Y appears to be £1383 on those dates.

A little play on Matrix suggests AC in premium economy can be had for between £1500 and £1600.

I would think he's better off taking mainline AC on the trans-Atlantic sectors from LHR rather than Rouge from LGW? The Canada-LAS service would be Rouge anyway, but books into business.

Could somebody take a look at the below and let me know (1) if these are reasonable options, and (2) which flight combinations are likely to be preferable (if any)? I don't know whether connections are preferable in YYC, YUL or YYZ, for example, or whether the service would be better on any one of those.
