Interesting, I can replicate it on ITA for 2340 however QF multi won't allow me but will allow me to route:
AKL-MEL-SYD-BKK-SYD-AKL (EK/QF/EK/EK/QF) gaining 440 SC and 3 x A380, very happy )

could be be because of my selected dates, also could route AKL-BNE
