This is my first Delta flight after 12 years. Given that Delta is aggressively expending in SEA, it is inevitable to take some Delta flights since it has better schedule than Alaska in some transcon routes. I know airlines do not care family/vacation travelers but I don't want it drop to the level of Frontier or Spirit...

I can assure you that Delta is very far from Spirit. I wouldn't let this one experience shape your whole view of Delta. Generally Delta employees are very caring and they have a substantially better overall onboard experience in economy than other US airlines.
