If this is downtown Philadelphia, the RI is centrally located and IIRC connected to convention center, the Reading Terminal Market, and the train line to/from the airport. Check the location of Home2Suites and verify whether it will be convenient for you.

Note also that while Home2Suites seems to be a new extended stay brand (directed toward millenials), it doesn't have the same features as RI, notably full kitchens and evening F&B receptions during the beginning of the week.
