My partner, a Diamond member, reserves an award room at a hotel and enters both our names on the booking. Now that the booking is at the end of this week, she cannot travel but I, also a Diamond member, will be going.
So the booking was from her account, but I will be staying. We called the Diamond desk and they confirmed that is not an issue.
My question is do I get the Diamond benefits (lounge access & breakfast) as a Diamond member myself, but with the points having been taken from my partner's account?
Just make sure she adds your name as additional guest otherwise you may not be able to check in without her. If you really want to be safe, and if the hotel still have room, you could cancel that stay, and have her call in to order another reward stay with your name on it. You would still get Diamond benefit but no one will get stay/night credit. The first way, with you as additional guest, she will get stay/night credit.
