The Pen HK used to be by far the best in HK, but then the focus changed. Kowloon used to be the high-end option, with The Pen and The Regent HK (now InterCon) in starring roles.
After the handover to China, the emphasis gradually changed. Hong Kong Island became the go-to location, with Four Seasons opening and Landmark MO.
Suddenly, Kowlooon was for the Chinese and HK Island was for the rest of the high-end International market.
The Pen has tried to keep up, but it has become a victim of its guests.
