I posted the upgrade chart more generally because I suspect many will find it valuable.
From recent personal experience, once you are checked-in, Gold Passport/Hyatt is powerless and everything is at a mercy of a hotel. If you have contact information for someone else who could help, please share it with us.
Even if the poster could get upgraded/moved to another room the next day, it makes sense to get that room from the very beginning as it avoids the hassles of re-packing and moving everything. That can be a pain if you are traveling as a family or just simply want to unpack, unwind, and chill.
