What Happened: Meal service started about 2 hours into the flight. I ordered the seafood pasta. Started eating and found a surprise hiding the 5th or 6th bite. It was a large piece of plastic, obviously from the bag the food was packaged in prior to heating and serving. Glad I didn't accidentally swallow it as I was on my way out of the country.
Compensation: The Purser immediately granted me 15,000 Miles on the plane. Wrote Delta a nasty gram when I got back to the US. Got a call 10 days later offering another 25,000 miles + a $300 gift certificate. All I really wanted was my Global Upgrade to be reinstated but Delta rep said he didn't have the authority to do that.
