I booked a return flight on Rouge today to San Diego. Some of the fares listed in the Flex column are marked as "You will be waitlisted" and others said "Seats Available for Upgrade."

As a 35K member I figured that it would allow me to upgrade upon purchase if selecting a flight that said "Seats Available for Upgrade."

Upon purchase I went to use my upgrade credits and it said "Upgrades can only be requested within 8 days of flight." So, what am I missing? Maybe Air Canada should say that when i booked the flight?

Can someone shed some light on this?
