3) SFO and some of the LAX flights are operated by the 744, but finding availability is going to be tough. I might recommend flying to Tokyo on JL and then the HND-SYD flight on the 744. It would be two awards, but availability might be easier to find.
Before anybody says, what about CX? They retired their last 747 a couple months ago. It used to run HKG-HND/NRT and it had F in the nose.
