Perhaps it was also intended (not by our host, but by the software developers) to add interest and encourage people to stay current, be helpful, and not rest on their laurels?

I agree with the high school or junior high school perception. However, many of us -- myself included -- often fall back on attitudes, lessons, and behaviors acquired in that period of our lives, before things became so complicated.

So if you haven't yet bestowed your third daily bling, perhaps you'll put me on the road to a third green lozenge?
