Even though SPN Lifer gracefully answered your question with a link, Shareholder, it's perhaps apropos to post the following for those who either miss the link or who don't want to be bothered with it:
Any user can let you know whether they approve or disapprove of one of your posts by clicking the reputation button associated with the post. They can also provide a short comment as to why they approved or disapproved.
If you look in your MyFlyerTalk Panel you can see the last 10 reputations given to you. There will be a little dot next to each reputation:
* A green dot means the user approved of your post, and as a result your reputation has grown,
* A red dot means the user disapproved of your post, and as a result your reputation has declined,
* A gray dot means the user giving you reputation has not yet met the minimum qualifications to do so. You will still be able to read any associated comment, if the user has elected to post one.
Below you will find some of the guidelines used to determine how many 'points' of reputation are awarded or taken away by each user, and some of the restrictions involved with awarding reputation ratings.
Register Date Factor
For every 365 days a member has been a registered, they gain one point of reputation-altering power.
Post Count Factor
For every 1,000 posts, a member gains one point of reputation-altering power.
Reputation Point Factor
For every 100 points of reputation earned, a member gains one point of reputation-altering power (each member initially starts out with 10 points of reputation-altering power).
Minimum Post Count
A member must have a minimum of 250 posts before she/he can influence the reputation of another member.
Minimum Reputation Count
A member must have a minimum reputation of 20 points to influence the reputation of another member.
Daily Reputation Clicks Limit [Administrators are exempt]
A member can give up to three reputation ratings over any 24 hour period.
Reputation User Spread [Administrators are exempt]
Once giving a reputation rating to a member, you must rate the reputation of at least 50 other members before you will be allowed to re-rate the same member.
