Question about travel credit for 2018: If you cancel a card, they will prorate and refund the annual fee. If I spend $300 at the beginning of of 2018, then cancel the card, do I keep the $300 travel credit or will they prorate the travel credit and do a claw back? Genuinely curious, I don't have much experience with travel credits.

(I noticed comment #632 says they don't do claw backs...)
Humans make mistakes that just what we do, we don't like to but it happens. I would be disappointed in missing the total credit also.

There's been zero reports of Chase claw backs.
You can still get $300 credit for 2017 and imho you could get 2018 by doing it in 12/2017 and then if you need to cancel do it then. But I think this is a keeper and even though my wife got her's in early 10/2016 and me late in 12/2016 we both plan on keeping them for the travel insurance.
After you add in the 100k UR's I can pay the $150 per year. $450-$300 travel credit for a few years. We'll use it for travel so $1,500 total for us.

The only chance of cancelling would be a down grade, which is always out there. ps time to leave for my Goes interview lol.
My Goes # was on email before I got home.
